Manifattura Crespi has obtained Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class 1 certification for the most requested jacquard and stretch textiles.
Manifattura Crespi fabrics are safe because they are analysed and certified every year by Oeko-Tex, and they are classified “Made in Italy”
thanks to the traceability system.
Which are Oeko-Tex requested inspections on fabrics?
- forbidden illegal substances as cancer-causing colorants;
- susbstances regulated by law such as come formaldehyde, softeners, heavy metals and pentachlorophenol;
- substances which are dangerous but not regulated or prohibited by law such as pesticides, allergenic colourings or tin organic compounds;
- parametres such as colour solidity and pH value which doesn’t irritate the skin, useful for the consumer’s safety and protection.
Which are the classes and the differences?
Harmful substances tests according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 are always based on the textile product real usage.
Therefore remember that:
“The more the fabric is in contact with the skin (and the more the skin is sensible), the higher are the human-ecological requisites which have to be accomplished”.
Consequently, the fabrics successfully tested are divided in 4 different classes of product.

Class I products:
textile items for babies and toddlers up to 3 years (clothing, toys, bed linen, terry cloth items etc.)
Class II products : textiles used close to the skin (underwear, bed linen, T-shirts etc.) .
Class III products: textiles used away from the skin (jackets, coats etc.)
Class IV products: furnishing materials (curtains, table cloths, upholstery materials etc.)
